Enter
Shikari
marked the third anniversary of David Bowie’s death
with a cover of ‘Heroes’.

You can watch a clip below of frontman Rou Reynolds performing
the classic during the band’s encore at their show in Sheffield
on Thursday (10 January).

Taking to the stage for the encoure, Reynolds said: “The band,
like many other bands, wouldn’t be here without David Bowie and
his inspiration.”

It was the first show of the year for the band, who are
currently on their
‘Stop The Clocks Tour’,
which will see them play venues
across the UK this month – including Liverpool, Glasgow, Norwich
and Preston.

David Bowie passed
away on January 10, 2016, after a battle with liver cancer.

Bowie’s illness was not made public until after he died.

His last studio album, ‘Blackstar’, was released two days
before his death, on Bowie’s 69th birthday. The opening lyrics
from single ‘Lazurus’ dealt with themes of death, with Bowie
singing, “Look up here, I’m in heaven, I’ve got scars that
can’t be seen, I’ve got drama, can’t be stolen, Everybody
knows me now.”

NME’s
Sam Richards gave Bowies 25th studio album four stars
, writing,
“‘Blackstar’ spins the spaceship back around and points it at
the moon. Bowie’s formidable record of reinventing himself with
each new album remains intact.”

Enter Shikari announced their ‘longest tour’ ever last
summer to promote their fifth studio album, ‘The Spark’.

The four piece–
who won Best Album for their latest effort at last year’s
Kerrang! Awards
– kicked off their ‘Stop the Clocks’
shows in December before taking a break over Christmas.
